Don't Let your Best Friend Get Sick

With Canine Influenza Virus (CIV) cases on the rise, it is important to vaccinate your pets. Numbers have significantly risen since the virus was first introduced in Florida in 2004. Influenza viruses are able to quickly change and give rise to new strains that can infect different species. At present, two strains of canine influenza virus have been identified in the United States: H3N8 and H3N2.

Vaccinating your pets is not only beneficial as a preventative, it will keep them happy by sparing them from annoying cough attacks. With constant exposure to the environment and other dogs, influenza vaccinations protect your dog while outside as well as while he/she is in a kennel, groomer, dog park, or boarding facility.

It is important to initially vaccinate puppies as early as 7 weeks old, with 2 administered doses given two to four weeks apart. Annual re-vaccinations are recommended with one dose at a time.

Flu season is on the rise, help keep your furry friend feeling healthy with a vaccineation today!
